Monthly letter March 2018

Hope you have a wonderful Easter celebration and a nice holiday. It will be an eventful spring and hard work before a well-deserved vacation. Time goes faster than you think and it's time to submit a holiday request. This year we offer you who take at least three weeks holiday during the winter months extra vacation days. This means that you can get up to an extra holiday week.

THE HUMAN FACTOR - IS IT?

When there is an accident at work, I often hear: “it could not be done differently ” or "Unfortunately that's what's happening". I've been thinking about it a bit and NO, it's not !! It is easy (and nice) to blame the human factor or external circumstances that we believe we can not influence. We can get better at seeing the underlying causes of the human factor that lead to an accident. We are the ones! It is human to make mistakes and we all do - all the time. So dare to make a mistake! How else can we learn and be able to fix the right things to prevent more accidents from happening? If it is carelessness, time pressure, fear, inability, lack of routines or something else that is the cause, it is time that we do something about it.

A SAFE AND SAFE WORKPLACE

When we made a restart in the work environment work, shortcomings in the division of responsibilities of tasks and routines within the work environment work were parts that we had to deal with. We want a Culture where everyone works for continuous improvement for a safe and secure workplace with higher well-being. 5 S is a forum where we have done a lot. Last month, Lilla verkstaden made the most improvements and took home the second 5 S victory in a row. Start each 5 S meeting with a safety review so that we can detect and remedy risks of ill health and accidents in time.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR NEW!
If you know someone who is looking for a collaboration, wants to sell a plot or workshop in Stockholm and the surrounding area, get in touch. We would prefer to buy a workshop or plot in the north, but are open to other opportunities and locations.

A GREAT CHALLENGE FOR THE INDUSTRY

It is a great challenge for the industry to attract new, young and hungry talent to the profession. Almost two years ago, MVR, together with the Swedish Public Employment Service, started a labor market training for steel builders. In April, the third batch begins and soon they will be out on workplace learning (APL). Shout out if you want to become a supervisor.

In March, Ahmad began his internship to develop his knowledge in welding and forging as the last part of his welding education. Wille is his supervisor.

FAITHFUL CUSTOMER DISCOUNT

In April, a beginner's and an advanced course in pin welding will begin with our skilled blacksmiths as course leaders. Right now, Medborgarskolan offers a loyal customer a discount to those who have taken the beginner course and who want to deepen their knowledge in welding.

SELLER OF THE MONTH

Congratulations Rizwan on the first order! Pling, pling, pling, pling, pling for parties to Lidingö town hall. Shortly afterwards, Yosef H plunged for the order of three ramps to Wacker Neuson. They will be manufactured in the workshop and then delivered to Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

ECONOMIC NEWS

Yeah! We reached breakeven in March and got a cruel bill! We have become skilled at collecting unpaid invoices. It's time to pay performance salaries for the first quarter and it will be exciting to see how much our project managers get out. Everyone is fighting and doing a fantastic job! It feels really good that we are on our way to the goal!

OUR PROJECTS

A nice feeling arose when everyone was fully occupied again! Now the reverse challenge will be enough resources… In March continued blue team with MT steel, alternations and reinforcements between masonry walls in the new emergency room at Danderyd Hospital. In April, they will assemble pillars and start manufacturing reinforcing steel and terrace railings. Blue team finished the stairs on Kungsgatan. They built a floor in the light courtyard for the emperor. The team installed aluminum thresholds and a screen wall for a reception desk in kv Hilton. They also did blacksmithing at the T-central. Jimmy received an order for the railing in expanded metal on Humlegårdsgatan for Tungel Byggare, which is in the starting pit, congratulations! Prior to this, the team did diversion forging.

The green team continued with the parties to Husfrun and the barrier kiosks to Slussen. It was full speed ahead in Handen where the installation of the glass facade to brf Blicken began to take shape. A large part of the glasses are already in place. The job is one of Lundgren's biggest glass facade jobs! The red team continued with the security doors to be installed in April. In addition to this, they made a glass cover for Cousin's pizza. They made 25 wine racks, built five display stands and did some small work for Janax Snickeri. In April, the team will make a copper-clad sliding door to Samsung's new store on Kungsgatan. They will also make tutors for a pool and a ramp of acid-resistant material for Komponent Byggen.

Gula team continued with the sound barrier to On Track in Älvsjö. The glass assembly was completed and the pergola will soon be finished. They made glass doors to the children's library in Upplands Väsby. The assembly of railings and supervisors in Nacka continued. In addition to this, they manufactured and assembled canopies, made a wrought iron railing and mounted glass doors. Eddings was full and we had capacity left over and could therefore help in Smista. Glad they're on their way! In April, the preschool in Bandhagen starts up again and the production of the ramps begins.

THE WORKSHOP MANAGER HAS THE WORD

The oxidation space became clear. The ladders and fire extinguishers for hot work were marked and numbered. You can sign them out at Affe. A sign of spring that is here is that it is time to change to summer tires on work cars. When they are replaced, the container will be emptied of anything that has nothing to do with the company's cars. A little 5 S - throw everything away unnecessarily! A wonderful feeling!

CULTURE

We perform more if we have fun at work. At the next general meeting, we light the grill in the spring sun. A week later pulls red team to Barcelona to engage in team building. It is really fun that you who work with us make it possible for LUNDGRENS to contribute to Eezer's work to reduce maternal mortality in Africa. In the spring, we will build motorcycle ambulances in Burundi and go to Kenya on a follow-up trip. We also have LUNDGREN's annual summer party to look forward to before we part for a holiday.

- END -

THE BURUNDI MISSION HAS BEGUN!

Every minute a woman around the world dies due to complications associated with pregnancy or childbirth. The worst affected are the central parts of Africa. Many deaths are due to a lack of transport between home and the maternity clinic. Safe transport that can reach the African countryside is needed. The Eezer Initiative tries to solve this with the help of cost-effective motorcycle ambulances in the most vulnerable areas. At the same time, it creates jobs. It feels fantastic that we at LUNDGRENS are involved in this work!

What do we do? Well, Micke S recently took up the challenge of getting the pull to the motorcycle crew that will pass a Swedish inspection. We also started building three ambulance crews in flat packages. When completed, they will be finalized in Burundi in early May. In Burundi, Eezer needs the help of two fearless welding experts who will assemble these on site with the help of local staff. The crew must then be handed over to a clinic.

In mid-May, a follow-up trip to Kenya is also planned, with two from LUNDGRENS to accompany. During this trip we will follow up the crew that was produced during the pilot phase. The design, the IT system and the operational part of the business will also be evaluated.

YOUR SECURITY

We work in a risky work environment with dangerous machines, noise, heavy lifting, welding fumes, etc. Unfortunately, accidents sometimes occur. We have developed a checklist for risk assessment to prevent accidents. Before you start a job, think about the following points:

  • How do I do the job?
  • Do I have the necessary permits and permissions to perform the work?
  • What can go wrong?
  • What steps must I take to prevent an accident?
  • Do I have the right protective equipment?
  • What should I do if something unforeseen happens?

It is a few minutes that are well invested and remember that your safety always comes first. We will continue to talk about work environment, risks and safety in various forums and work with improvements for a safe and secure workplace.

REVISION EN 1090

In February, it was time for the annual development visit for continued development and to maintain quality in accordance with EN 1090. No deviations were reported. It was fun that we got a lot of praise for the nice order in the workshop. We can thank all 5 S: ers for that! We would also like to thank Fuad for the outstanding work he does with the marking and handling of incoming goods. We will change the structure slightly and appoint a group to work with CE-marked jobs. This is to further increase competence and quality. Are you interested? If so, talk to Jimmy or Richard.

LUNDGRENS & EDDINGS

Eddings Smide needs help to speed up sales. Adam will therefore step over there. Eddings has a huge development potential and good team players so it will be really exciting to follow their journey together!

SELLER OF THE MONTH

Jimmy had the honor of ringing the new order bell for large orders. It was a ping when he got home a job at TL Bygg where we will build a new floor in a light courtyard. Axel will be responsible for the project and for the production that will take place with us. They will use the entire forging department for about two weeks. Furthermore, Jimmy and Sébastien got a job on 2 glass sections for Skeppströms Byggnads. Two pings in the small order clock! Congratulations!

NOW THEY GOT SO THEY TEG!

The mezzanine plane wanted tougher resistance in 5 S. The small workshop accepted the challenge and took home its first victory. Great, what a nice order they created in the area! Now the question is: which group will take home the next 5 S victory?

OUR PROJECTS

It was a pure pleasure to accompany photographer Johan Bååth out on the town to photograph some of our jobs. There are so many amazing and cool jobs that we have done over the years! To name a few we had time for - meat chillers and furnishings in AG's Meat Shop, wine rack for Magnusson Fine Wine, interior forging at Brillo & Luzette, cafe furnishings at Fabrique, window frames and lattice flooring in the teaching building at KTH, doors with brass moldings in the Concert Hall, sheet metal walls in Sturegallerian, bar kiosks etc.

What are we doing right now? In February, the work continued in the new emergency room where seven people currently work. A new PM came which means even more work. A large steel staircase, MT steel and additional work await. Furthermore, they helped Mälarvikens Tak och Bygg AB with various forging work for their housing construction in Spånga. Blue team also manufactured and assembled leather-wrapped wrought iron railings for Heving & Hägglund. They made alternating beams for Brahelund and mounted a staircase in an office on Kungsgatan. At Jästbolaget, the team performed minor forging work in their production facilities. They also made a stand for a chimney on Södermalm. Kv Hilton is nearing the end where they installed thresholds / small ramps to the exits.

The green team continued with the parties on Drottninggatan and to Husfrun. They started with the barrier kiosks to Slussen with the manufacture of two kiosk fronts. The team made balcony railings, some small forging jobs for NHL Snickerier and Lassfolk as well as glass frames for CL Specialglas. In March, the installation of the glass sections for the project Blicken i Handen will begin.

The red team continued with the manufacture of the security doors. Furthermore, they made glass racks for the restaurant Paganini for Janax Snickerier. They also made small details for the Meat Shop, including a locking device for the refrigerator doors. Furthermore, they made aluminum doors for Östermalm's IP and brass moldings for stained glass. Gula team started with the canopy and a staircase to the preschool in Bandhagen. They continued with the railings and guides in Nacka and the pergola in Älvsjö. Finally, Rizwan did an invaluable job with all the drawings and calculations in various projects.

Monthly newsletter November 2017

WE HAVE A DAUGHTER!

In November, we became proud owners of Bröderna Eddings Smide. Eddings has been active since 1945. Torgny Stolt has run the company for some time. There are 11 employees and Torgny is one of those who worked the longest. Torgny with staff will continue to run the company as before with the support of selected parts of LUNDGREN's system for project follow-up. Their focus is construction forging, fine forging and service. Initially, we will focus on speeding up sales, implementing a new finance program and NEXT and coordinating transport. We will get to know the staff and review the need for development and resources. They are skilled and we are skilled - together we will be awesome! For more info about Edding's visit www.eddings.se

THE FEELING OF RINGING THE ORDER CLOCK FOR THE FIRST TIME IS PAYABLE

A bubbly Riyam rang the order bell 12 times and invited for coffee and bubbly to celebrate that she got her first real order! With the help of Yosef H as a coach, she got a job worth SEK 1.2 million. They will deliver and install a large canopy, sunshades, a railing and three stairs to a preschool. The project starts in early 2018. The fact that she received help from a skilled and experienced project manager was valuable and made the road to success easier. Together they will carry out the project gallantly. Since Riyam started at the end of August, she has struggled to get into the match. This is proof of a very good work effort and a working collaboration. Congratulations Riyam and Yosef!

MC AMBULANCES FOR REDUCED MOTH DEATH

After melting the Kenyan trip, LUNDGRENS decided that we will continue to be involved in the development project Eezer, which works to reduce maternal mortality in the world. The next step in the project is to improve the existing motorcycle ambulance so that it can better cope with the difficult terrain in the African countryside. Devex is developing a drawing for the manufacture of welding jigs. The templates will then be sent to a local workshop in Africa for the manufacture of the wagons. The goal is to build 30 crews in 2018 that will be lent to local organizations in Kenya, Burundi and Congo. A screening sex that passes the Swedish inspection will also be built. Feel free to read the article about Eezer in the magazine Svetsen.

EVERYONE AT LUNDGRENS

Workplace is like an intranet that enables us to communicate with each other in a smooth and fun way. We can write posts, share photos, create groups and events, chat, etc. Next everyone is involved, so join us even if you have not already done so. Also, remember to check your email periodically. Now there is a loan computer that you can use if you need to register times, check emails, attend web-based courses etc.

SUCCESSFUL TEAM RESORTS!

Gula team had a super trip in Las Palmas. It was team building at a high level with get-to-know-you exercises, 5-fight, wrestling, excursion in the mountains and much more. They visited a forging workshop that we hope we can start a collaboration with. There were many newcomers on the trip and the group formed a team with a common goal. They agreed that cooperation is the key to success. One of the participants, who has worked for many years in the forging industry, said that he had never experienced anything like this before. Blue team trip to Malta was also memorable. The feeling of security was present in the group and the gang became a close-knit team. Now charging green team for his trip to Budapest in December.

WORKSHOPS

In November, Jimmy gave an esteemed introduction to CE-marked projects for new employees. We plan to have workshops on various topics in the future. Feel free to come up with suggestions for themes where there is a need for competence development.

TURN OFF THE FANS!

It's starting to get cold outside and the construction fans are on in the workshop. It happens quite often that there is a full cutter on the fans during evenings and weekends. There is a lot of energy that we waste and here there is money to be saved. It is also worth remembering that we do not work as well when it is too hot. For mobile or physically strenuous work, the temperature should be at least 14-15 ° C, it does not have to be sauna heat...

ECONOMIC NEWS

We reached breakeven in November and ended up above this zero point! Right now there is a lot of focus on project accounting and the finance department is working full time for an even better and simpler overview.

OUR PROJECTS

Congratulations to the gang at Danderyd who were named UE in October! They did a fantastic job and received much praise for their commitment. In November they continued with the assembly of MT steel and did a lot of additional work. Further did blue team service jobs at Jästbolaget and variety bars on Kungsgatan and Strandvägen. They installed a self-supporting staircase with glass railings for NCC in Kista. The team also mounted a stand for a platform for a cooling unit on a roof in Liljeholmen for TL Bygg. The job is expected to be completed in mid-December. They made a change to the Trygg Hansa house on Kungsholmen. A railing job for Friskis & Svettis in Abrahamsberg awaits the team. '

The green team continued with copper-clad sections to the Housewife. They also started manufacturing sliding and swing doors for Drottninggatan. The Blicken project continued with the assembly of about 30 glass sections. The red team completed the coolers for AG's new Meat Store and made door sections in copper for Högabolagen. In addition to this, there were some small jobs such as moldings, frames, railings, etc. Micke S came into the project manager role more and more and made furnishings for Fabrique Stenugnsbageri. He also worked with sliding doors to a wardrobe that the customer designed himself. It was also time to start assembling the canopy for special properties. Furthermore, Affe delivered a rig to a vinsh. All jobs in the IBM house for the LA group were completed and a canopy was installed.

Gula team completed the assembly of door sections in the Concert Hall and at St. Göran's Hospital. They installed a lattice gate on Fridhemsplan. The team also installed lattice floors, railings and ladders in plastic for the Käppala treatment plant. They assembled steel for glass walls for On track in Älvsjö and now work is underway on the pergola and glazing. As usual, the service guys were busy with various service work. In the coming weeks, the team will manufacture doors and various forged products. Otherwise helped Rizwan even made drawings for the project managers.

MÅLRAKAN

It is suffering towards Christmas and some well-deserved days off are waiting. All applications for holidays during Christmas and New Year are approved. Remember to notify any changes as soon as possible.

Finally we are in the finish line and now I want to see a real final sprint !! It's sickly exciting and you do a really good job. Continue with it straight into the goal!
