Welding evening TIG welding 1 July

On July 1, it's time for welding evening where you can try TIG welding. During the evening you get an introduction with practical training. No previous knowledge required - everyone is welcome!

Gas tungsten welding or TIG welding is a fusion welding method named after the English name Tungsten Inert Gas. It is a welding method developed in the 1940s for welding aluminum and magnesium alloys. A non-melting tungsten electrode is used. An electric arc is maintained between the non-melting electrode and the workpiece in an inert gas atmosphere. This means that the gas does not contribute to any chemical reaction in the process (burning of alloying elements or carbonization in the weld metal). If a metallic workpiece is not at all suitable for fusion welding, it can be joined with this method. TIG welding can be used on all weldable materials and is often used for welding thin materials (usually between 0.3 and 3 mm) but can also occur in thicker materials. The TIG method is used with good results in many areas in industry and crafts.
