Now we are welding in Bromma and in Africa

That we do so many different things is something that characterizes Lundgren's and that I think is very fun! Everything from exclusive entrances and security doors to pizza steel and welding in Africa. Getting new challenging tasks, big and small, at least gives me a boost of new energy and that it is fun to work.

In another part of the world

In Burundi, the Eezer gang is setting up a small workshop to manufacture 48 ambulances locally. Now some of our old workbenches and machines are in place in the workshop.

The production of the wagons is in full swing. To get the carriages ready on time, the gang works almost around the clock. They also educate local people on how to build the wagons. When the prams are finished, they will go to clinics in Burundi to reduce maternal mortality, which is a major problem. The long-term goal is for all women in rural Africa to be able to go to a clinic to give birth in a safe and cost-effective way.

During the week, the gang also followed up the crew that was delivered in the south Burundi two years ago. The prams are used to transport pregnant mothers to clinics when it is time to give birth. There are two women who went from the small village clinic to a larger clinic to deliver the children with an urgent caesarean section. The carriages made it possible to get around on difficult roads in life-threatening conditions. It was a matter of life or death and in these cases they arrived on time. We hope that the wagons will be used extensively in the future and save even more lives.

The team consists of the forging entrepreneurs Stefan and Richard, Eezer's passionate Lars, the mechanical engineer Magnus and the motorcycle builder Dennis. What heroes!

Eezer is a project that is close to our hearts and which is one of our most important projects. Because it is an indescribable feeling to be able to participate and make the world a little better. We all thank Lundgren for that because it is you who make this possible! And, I feel very proud of our work!

Eezer and Burundi

At the same time in Bromma

Right now we manufacture various forging products in our forging workshop in Bromma. Autumn welding courses has started with tagged participants who want to learn how to weld or develop their welding skills. Our new project managers Lasse and Mattias are in place, so now we have the capacity to take on more forging jobs. Here's a sampling of what we're doing right now.

MONTHLY LETTER DECEMBER 2020 - Everything in forging & glass

Lamparmatur

The year is coming to an end and with a few glimpses and other important events we are going to the end of the year monthly letter summarize the past year. Just 2020 has without a doubt been a strange year that offered something that was unexpected. We had to adapt to new circumstances in order to continue to conduct our business as normally as possible.

Some flashes of light

We started the year by moving into ours New facilities in Bromma. It is not often you get the opportunity to build a new forging workshop, which has been very fun! We thrive! Another flash of light was spring course activities which grew with as much as 160 % despite prevailing circumstances. We also went in as partner in a sheet metal & forging company in Norrköping. Our hope is that we together with The brothers Edding's Forging will become a strong player in the market and deliver world-class forging and glass!

To be involved and make a difference

Eezer is a project that is close to our hearts. Just before the pandemic broke out, there was a follow-up trip to Kenya. Since then, for obvious reasons, there has been a bit of silence. For that very reason, it felt extra good to end the year with that support music helpNo one should be left without care. By competing for an adventure trip to Kenya, we contributed SEK 43,400 in just over a day. For those of you who missed when the zealous Lars Klingsbo was in the program and told if the Burundi project can see it here. In 2021, we hope to be able to send a container down to Burundi with materials to start production of 50 crews. All to reduce maternal mortality in Africa with the help of motorcycle ambulances.

This year's challenge

It was not a record year for either our sales or profitability, but it was tough to succeed above all. sales. But with our now slimmer and more polished staff, we are on the right track. Here are some projects to remember from 2020 - security doors and glass, lots to the New Tramway Museum, canopy, facade forging and interior design for Biskopsudden's new restaurant, forging for Norrtälje bus depot, the handmade lamp luminaire and all gigantic flower boxes to different customers.

Finally

We want to end this year with a big one THANKS to all. We look forward to a new year. We are tagged to together have fun when we create world-class forging & glass! Here are 12 moments from 2020 that also became winners in the competition picture of the month!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hope you get the best start to the new year!

Together with Bröderna Eddings Smide, we will become a strong player in the market and deliver forge & glass world class!

A new group is in Kenya to follow up the project of developing and implementing motorcycle ambulances for reduced maternal mortality. They will deliver a new crew to a clinic in Samuli in southern Kenya and follow up on some already delivered crews.

Do you want to get involved in Eezer? Then you are welcome to contribute exactly what you are good at or you can become monthly donor to take the work forward. To be part of making the world a little better is an indescribable feeling!

Eezer has a lot of exciting things going on. Among other things, materials for ambulances will be transported down to Burundi. Away with the time thieves

What an opportunity to create a forging workshop with better order and a more pleasant working environment! Now we have the chance to remove time thieves and create new habits so that jobs can flow better. In our new workshop, we will not store or save more than is necessary. In addition, we will only have the equipment and materials required. Everything else is a waste! Because it takes us unnecessarily much time to look, wait and move things around as soon as we need something.

Christmas and moving are fast approaching

On Friday, it's time for the big Christmas 5 S-day. As you already know, we will focus on the move. We will clean, move things and start installing in the new workshop. Afterwards, we will enjoy a well-deserved Christmas party at the Stadium with loved ones.

New products in our web shop

Before the Christmas rush, we will fill our web shop with new products developed by our employees. The creative joy that exists among us is something we want to take advantage of. So feel free to visit ours webshop because there you will find a wonderful mix of fine furnishings in sustainable forging.

New: Marshal holder

Now we are going to do something about maternal mortality in Burundi

Many women dies in Burundi in connection with pregnancy and childbirth or complications related to childbirth. There are many who do not arrive at the clinic on time when it is time to give birth. So we will try to solve that together Eezer with the help of motorcycle-based ambulances.

Right now, Eezer is putting together a team that will get 100 carts together. This spring, a container will be filled with materials and equipment for 50 wagons going to Burundi. After that, the team will go down to start production locally.

The team needs a skilled electrician and someone who is skilled at milling. Do you feel called? Or maybe even want to help on the spot? In that case, contact Richard. Likewise if you want to contribute materials, equipment or tools. I promise that it is an indescribable feeling to be part of making the world a little better!

Lots of welding

It was fun when students from Beckman's design college were with us on a welding course. Soon it's time for another fun welding event when craftsmen in Stockholm come to us to see our workshop and try welding. Next year we will expand the range of courses including metal handicraft, welding evenings and also welding courses in TIG.

Teamwork makes the dreamwork

It was community that was in focus in Prague and Palma. We had time to share thoughts about the job, interests and goals in life. In addition, we had time to reflect on how we should work to achieve our goals. It really warms my heart that we have so much fun together!

Now that we have gotten to know each other better, we can take advantage of our different strengths. In addition, we become unbeatable together when it comes to performing forge & glass world class. Teamwork makes the dreamwork!

High-level cooperation

The final sprint

The countdown to Christmas leave has begun and all leave applications have been approved. Now we go into the final sprint. It's a great job you do so keep it up all the way straight to the finish line!

Our projects

In November, we continued with the cortene facade on Biskopsudden and installed copper-clad glass sections for Bromma church. We made wrought iron railings with guides that were wrapped in leather. We also made steel pillars, wrought iron railings and steel stairs. In addition, we made windows and door sections for the County Council House and burglary grilles for NCC. Furthermore, one replaced the beam job the other to the LA group. Finally, we also made sheet metal walls for Fridhemsplan day and night.

The Eddings brothers

In November, Järngänget did Eddings furniture designed by Jonas Bohlin to the new star restaurant on Biskopsudden. They continued with the forging jobs for Lidl, made suspension details for luminaires for the bridge at Bälstaån and also installed terrace railings and canopies at Gärdesskolan. Furthermore, they started making a staircase to Trygg-Hansa-Huset.

In December, Eddings will install forging for Welandtrappor and also continue with some additional work in kv. Stettin. In addition, they will manufacture a lattice floor plan for Lidl in Barkaby.

Already Friday…

It feels like it's Monday and Friday all the time! For the time being, illness is going fast and it is actually noticeable with everything we have time for. This week we have built Eezers motorcycle ambulances, made a wrought iron ramp, made glass sections in various materials such as copper, steel and brass. In addition, we have had welding trials for our skilled blacksmiths and welding course participants. Our new project manager Peter has put his teeth into a beam job. And, as usual, the week ended with 5 S with a focus on relocation. There is really a lot we get to do when we are helped!

On Monday we are back! We are between a few jobs and right now we can offer extra fast and good service. So do not hesitate to Contact Us if you have something you want help with. Same ambition now as then

When I cleaned at the workshop office, I found a flyer from 1987 where we market our services in welding and forging. This shows that the ambition already in 1952 was to be able to deliver good quality combined with good customer service and that it has given us many and recurring customers over the years. This ambition has remained in three family generations. In the same way, industry experience and skilled employees have been important ever since Lundgrens began its operations 67 years ago. As a result, we have been able to deliver forge and glass world class through all the years.

The move to the new forging workshop

It felt important to gather everyone in our new premises Tornväktargränd in Bromma to show the forging workshop and give answers to questions about the move. We were happy to tell you that we will rent the room next door, which means that we will have twice as much space.

It is a great challenge to carry out the move so that our business does not stop. Above all, good planning and commitment from everyone is required. We have already started the relocation work a little bit on our 5 S meetings by marking what we need to have with us. Feel free to come up with ideas or suggestions for improvements on how we should decorate the new workshop. Because when the rebuilding of the public spaces is complete, we will start moving over parts of the business. And, when the move is complete, we will have a thunderous move-in party in the new premises!

Team travel

Soon it's time for long-awaited team trips and this year the trips go to Palma and Prague.

Efforts to reduce maternal mortality in Africa

Even Eezers second follow-up trip to Kenya was successful. During this trip delivered Eezergang carriage 27 to a clinic in Rongai. Are you curious about what it is like to go on a follow-up trip? Then you should read the Eezerambassadören Lena's diary

What happens now? In October, we will produce two display copies. In addition, we will continue to be involved in the production of more ambulances.

Seller of the month

Congratulations Yosef who got in a series of exciting projects! For example, steel stairs, metal glass sections, interior forging and wrought iron railings. Tomas also got an exciting job with specially ordered glass sections for new ones The Tram Museum which will move from Södermalm to Gasverket in Norra Djurgårdsstaden.

Our projects

At Fridhemsplan, everything floated as it should with the installation of sheet metal cassettes. In addition to this, we installed door sections in Högdalen and delivered door sections to Kista Galleria. We also installed cover plates in Nynäshamn. In the forging workshop, we manufactured metal glass sections and forging gates. In addition, we made changes, glass doors, railings and steel stairs. We also made a canopy to Bromma Airport and continued with the cortén façade on Biskopsudden.

The Eddings brothers

There was also a lot to do for the iron gang Eddings in September. Among other things, they mounted beams for a ventilation unit and reinforcements of TT cassettes for kv Stettin. The gang also started assembling a grid floor plan in the shaft at Gärdesskolan. They will probably now start with the assembly of wrought iron railings and the manufacture of canopies. They also helped MVB with brackets for a glass facade. Furthermore, they were almost finished with the work on a new floor in Bromma where only additional work remains. The manufacture of variations for stairwells in the Trygg-Hansa house was completed and they will soon begin assembly. In Tomteboda, there was a new mezzanine floor.

Eddings also finished the brass-clad glass section for Lunda hotel. They also worked with restaurant forging for Karolinska Hospital and made furniture for Biskopsudden. The work in Viksjö center was completed and as a nice end to that project, the iron gang assembled a work of art in Viksjö Stadspark.

Artwork Viksjö city park

It was also full speed in the Lidl project where Valle and his efficient team mounted 280 meters of wrought iron railings. Now there are about 120 meters left to assemble. In addition, they mounted diversions, a spiral staircase, ventilation hood, folding glass walls, support plates, angles etc.

Lena's diary - in Kenya with Eezer

Take a look at Lena Pukki's diary from her trip with Eezer.

Aug 24

Today I am going on a fantastic journey, which I have had the opportunity to follow.
I am going to Kenya and get to follow a voluntary aid organization that works to reduce maternal mortality in connection with pregnancies and births through motorcycle ambulances.

Enter into www.eezer.org and read….

Aug 25

Today has been a long day. Landed early this morning in Addis Ababa, almost two hours waiting, on the next plane to Nairobi. Loaded up all our packing in two cars and off to the hotel and inspected all the motorcycles, had lunch and then meeting with various partners. Now in the room and will get me ready for tomorrow.
Stage 1, Rongai where we will leave an ambulance trailer to the clinic and then continue towards Kajiado.

Aug 26

We started from the hotel 8 in the morning our drive to the first clinic, where we will hand over an ambulance trailer. We are 9 motorcycles and one with a trailer.
The morning rush in Nairobi is a bit more chaotic than in Sweden, so we lost the motorcycles almost immediately after the start, but finally found each other and were able to continue our journey to the pick-up point for the trailer.

Loaded it and then had some coffee on foot and then off to the clinic. Delivered trailer and motorcycle and cooked some lunch on foot, then test drive with the trailer for the clinic manager and staff.

Now to the new hotel, via Kibera. Nairobi's major slums. Arrive at Masai Eco lodge, install us in the rooms then dinner and in bed. Because we were going to have breakfast at 05.00 before leaving for Amboseli National Park.

Dinner at the hotel and then fix everything before the trip to stage 3

Today it was an early breakfast up at 04.00, breakfast and then off to Amboseli National Park. It was dark when we started our journey and nice asphalt road… ..until it ended. Now we had to hold on as best we could and hope that the little safari bus would not overturn. After about three hours we arrived at the park and had a fantastic ride among the wild animals. It turned out to be very nice pictures.

After a quick lunch on our feet, we began our journey towards Olgulului to see how it went with the first ambulance trailer that was put out. It was a very shaky trip, like riding a washboard and a hump piste, you were a little worried that the zafari bus would overturn. The right rear wheel, on the other hand, started to tangle a little, it started to lock and it sank a little alarming. All of a sudden the wheel locked and we made a giant cord with a washbasin on the road. We got help from the other car to end up right on the road. Became a little ditch driving too. We decided that the other car would drive behind us, in case we needed help and so we ran away again. Unfortunately, the other car also broke down, the wheel axle fell off and there was no coverage on the phones.

With a little luck and help from friendly people, we were reunited in Olgulului. There we were invited to sing by the Masai women and food. We had a meeting with the village chief and the others about the ambulance trailer, what worked and what did not work. Unfortunately it got completely dark before we left for the hotel, but we went home without more mishaps for a really late dinner and then in bed to go away on the next stage.

We started early as usual, our first stop was a new future mini-dairy and combined clinic. Then the journey continued to the Pilliwac clinic, where we followed up the first ambulance trailer. We were greeted by singing and dancing, then a tour of the clinic and had rewarding conversations. The journey then continued to Naretoi, where we were to visit the school and the drilled well, it was difficult to get water, but at a depth of 180 meters they were finally found.

This well is very helpful for the women, so that they can drain water and sell in the area. This time too we managed to get away from each other, but also managed to find our way back to each other. Continued to a brand new clinic that also wants an ambulance trailer. We succeeded with 2 punctures on 2 motorcycles, we had to load the motorcycles on the flatbed and speed towards Loitoktok. When we were almost there, it stopped. There had been a tragic accident there on the road, where a small Masai child was hit by a car and died. The Masai had filled the road with large boulders on a stretch of 100 m approx. The police were on site and tried to persuade the Masai to remove the stones. Finally, after 3 hours of waiting, we were able to stop by and continue the journey towards Naretoi and the bed.

Today's stage is a transport route that starts at the foot of Kilimanjaro and ends at the shore of the Indian Ocean with no visits at all. It's a long drive on
Sometimes asphalt, among very bumpy gravel roads and sometimes on red clay roads about 450 km.

We are a wonderful group with a lot of laughter and positive thinking and I am so happy that I got to join this tour. Getting to know these fantastic people with the enormous commitment to make life a little better for these fantastic people we meet at the clinics and villages we visit. I've learned so much.

Very beautiful nature, through Tsavo National Park and many small villages the toddlers wave and shout along the roads when we arrive, 9 motorcycles and a large car with a trailer. Today's drive took 10 hours with short stops for fluids, lunch, stretching the legs a bit and a puncture.

Aug 30

After a good night's sleep, we had a wonderful breakfast and a dip in the Indian Ocean before heading to the Kinondo Kweto Clinic to follow up on the trailer that was there. We met the amazing Dr. Harrison, what a fiery soul and what amazing work is being done at this clinic. After the tour of the clinic, we met all the midwives who go around and bring the women to the clinic, to give birth to their children safely. As usual we were received with song and dance. They do a fantastic job of getting the women to the clinic both for check-ups before the birth and to also after that make sure that the children are vaccinated.

Today has been a clean day of rest, which was much needed. Lots of sun and swimming and preparations for tomorrow's long drive back to Nairobi 550 km on Kenyan roads, takes about 12 hours. It was a small motorcycle ride for some, just a puncture. Our driver Kevin has repaired the car and the day ended as usual with a joint dinner.

September 1, Part 1

We got up early to try to get away by 6am. It started well, everyone got going and the roads were empty. We thundered through the countryside and national park.
After 50 km, the first puncture appeared. It was just to load the motorcycle on the trailer and off eller .or not. The car was dead and everyone knowledgeable tried to fix it, something with the generator. They temporarily managed to get the car started, so that we would come to someone new with a workshop.

We came to Kinango, where we found a couple of guys who went on the generator, we took the opportunity to fix the point twist and decided that all but 2 motorcycles go to Nairobi.

Anne me and Hilda got hold of a guy who could fix some lunch for us, we chewed and the generator was repaired, but there was still a little electrical fault in the car. We had to drive with the front windows down and the invoices closed, because it did not work to close or open the windows.

We started the journey to Nairobi and beamed together with the motorcycles, a workshop immediately started fixing with the generator. Once again we decided that all motorcycles go to Nairobi and we girls stay with drivers until the car is fixed.
Now new plans, we have to try to get a driver with a car that can drive us to Nairobi, is starting to get a little stressful as it is still about 5 hours to Nairobi.

September 1, Part 2

We got a guy who could drive us to Nairobi, so we fit everyone's pack in his car and started our trip to Nairobi. He was given strict orders not to make dangerous overtaking, which otherwise seems to be the Kenyans' specialty.

Ours drove us to a gas station, he would think then he …… ??? But he started by changing tires, asked if there were any problems, but nääe absolutely not.

We got off and he drove like a kamikaze pilot, had to tell him that, if he wants to drive himself to death, it's perfectly ok for me, but he can do it on the way home without us in the car. Ok, he calmed down a bit, but had to remind him between laps.
Informed him that it is also in Kenya is forbidden to talk on the phone, especially if you drive as soon as the car goes and makes overtaking.

When we had managed 50 km and had only 50 km left, we ended up in a terrible traffic chaos. A truck had completely crashed and lay across all the files. There were several hundred trucks, buses and trucks in a single chaos and a crazy driver who started tripping in the chaos to get around.

Finally we arrived in Nairobi and when we arrived at the last roundabout to the hotel, all our motorcycles dived into the roundabout. Now we were all gathered again.

September 2, last day here in Kenya

After a few hours of sleep a shower that washed away all the red sand / dust that we have been covered in recent days. Quick breakfast and then off to return motorcycles, a quick visit to a school and then we will go back to the hotel and pick up packing, then to the flight. Hope Kevin gets back to the last pack left in the car. Lars' shoes, Daniel's passport and a bit of that.

Now we are waiting for the flight to go, unfortunately Daniel stayed and will have to take the flight tomorrow. His passport he did not catch up with him from Voi.

It has been an eventful journey and takes a few days before you digest all the experiences and impressions you have received.
