We are back in everyday life again and of course it feels a little tough when the lazy days are over. But, we have actually survived the saddest day of the year and luckily it's easy to find your way back to the routines again!

Having a new year with new opportunities ahead is always exciting. It is high pressure and we have loaded with capacity. We have a great team that can deliver world-class wrought iron and glass. Right now we are manufacturing a barrier kiosk, assembling beams, welding piles, manufacturing windows and assembling glass sections. And, we have the capacity to take more jobs. We wish you a happy new year!

Soon 2021 is over and we want to wish you a happy new year! We would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing us to be your supplier, employer, partner, customer and friend. We are so grateful and proud of what we create! Together we make the (for me) impossible possible when we perform advanced forging jobs. That we also have fun together warms the heart!

This year, too, we can look back on an eventful year and here is a look back at some of the glimmers of light from the year. It was not a record year for sales. But it is still not that bad because what we really remember from 2021 are all the inspiring projects that we had the honor of being involved in building. Exclusive entrances, slender wrought iron gates & railings, security doors, folding glass sections, the re-creation of the light portal and more. And, recently, the starting shot was fired for a large order that we will deliver in 2022. Sales this spring webshop broke records, however. That we got the best grades in best-in-test of pizza steel and handled over 45 tons of food steel is crazy! A fun side project that turned out to be an interesting business. To catch on to this rapid trend was, as I said, awake of us 🙂

To make a difference

Eezer is a project that is close to our hearts. That we were finally able to go to Burundi to set up a small workshop locally is fantastic. For now, the production of 48 ambulances is underway. The prams will be used to transport pregnant mothers to clinics when it is time to give birth. In many cases, it is a matter of life or death when they have to get on the "roads" of the African countryside in life-threatening conditions. We hope that the carriages will be used extensively and save many lives. Thank you all at Lundgren's for making our commitment possible!

Happy New Year

Now it's time to recharge. And, what a year we have to look forward to! A year with full speed ahead as we will continue to develop our group and look for new exciting business opportunities and motivated employees. And, in addition, Lundgren's turns 70! Imagine that we have been performing world-class forging & glass for seven decades! It's powerful!

Our forging workshop in Bromma - everything in forging & glass

Two years ago we bought ours forging workshop in Bromma. The actual moving load went a few months later and since 2020 we have conducted our business in the new workshop. And, as we thrive! On the one hand, there is a lot of space, and on the other hand, it is so powerful to be able to create a workshop that we want it to be. In addition, there are good opportunities to grow in the new premises and we are more tagged than ever to take on new challenges.

Inside the forging workshop

We have focused on advanced forging and glass jobs according to each customer's unique needs. When our project managers plan and our blacksmiths carry out the work, long-term experience of forging is combined and we can thus deliver complete solutions together.

Inside the workshop, our blacksmiths bend, weld, turn, mill and roll fully. They can actually fix most things - genuine craftsmanship at its best! Right now we manufacture steel glass sections, brackets, slender wrought iron gates, a welding cabinet, etc. Some take the opportunity to test drive the new truck while our apprentice Tom and our trainees learn new tasks. That the interest in learning to weld is great is noticeable in our welding courses and events. The pressure is increasing which is great fun!

Others are out and help our customers with assembly and installation of our products. Both at construction sites and at private individuals.

A cruel workforce

Being able to help our customers quickly is important to us. Therefore, we ensure that we have a large and competent staff that is available when our customers need us. The fact that we are centrally located also contributes to us being able to provide fast service to our customers. We want to offer our customers the best! And we have a great staff and good capacity to be able to take on more forging jobs. So it's just you contact us if you need help with anything.

Friday feeling

When nice music is played in the speakers, the Friday feeling occurs. At regular intervals, someone shouts with a beautiful voice and makes some nice moves on the workshop floor. When there is a rush the pizza steel it is noticeable that it is Friday. Because there are many who will bake pizza and smash burgers. As always, we end the week with 5 S before it's time to take a weekend off. At our 5 S meetings, we work systematically to create an even better and more pleasant work environment for our employees.

We charge for Burundi

This spring, a container filled with tools, machines and materials was sent to Burundi. In a few weeks we will travel to Burundi with Eezer. The team consists of the forging entrepreneurs Stefan and Richard, Eezer's passionate Lars, the mechanical engineer Magnus and the motorcycle builder Dennis. Now the team will build a workshop and help set up a production so that 50 wagons can be built locally.

The carriages will then go to clinics in Burundi to reduce maternal mortality in Africa. The long-term goal is for all women in rural Africa to be able to go to a clinic to give birth safely and cost-effectively. Sign up for a welding course this fall

On August 21, our regular course activities start and there are a few places left for the course Welding for beginners which goes off the rails then. Even if you have never held a weld before, you can easily learn to join metal together with the help of a welding wire and build a table, for example. Eager to learn? Then you should check out ours supply because we have courses for all tastes, both for individuals, companies and schools. With us, for example, an 80-year-old woman who has never welded before managed to get her first welding certificate. We also have participants who have learned advanced pipe welding.

Who are you?

You have a construction technical background with experience from a similar position as site manager, work manager, production manager, project manager or similar. You are used to being responsible for projects and understand how all parts of a project should be performed. It is an advantage if you have a large network of contacts in the construction industry and have experience in forging and / or glass.

As a person, you are a doer who likes to have a lot of balls in the air. You are result-oriented and customer-oriented at the same time as you are structured, straightforward and unpretentious. That you are entrepreneurial, like challenges and are innovative is important as a lot is about solving tasks. You thrive as a leader and know how to create commitment and a good team spirit through communication and clarity.

Competence is important, but for us, personal qualities and attitudes are just as important. For us to succeed, we need the right person in the team.

About us

It started in the small workshop in the garage in Storskogen in 1952. For three family generations, Lundgrens Smide has preserved the craft tradition and delivered complete solutions in forging and glass to both construction companies and private individuals in Greater Stockholm and the surrounding area. Our projects vary in both size and character and we do most things within construction forging, glass and metal sections, interior forging and service throw. We have focused on forging and glass work, which many others in the industry find difficult to perform. Our ambition is to always deliver a good project to a satisfied customer. That is why we are happy to contribute with new angles and help our customers find the best solutions.

Lundgrens Smide currently employs around 40 employees, consisting of project managers, supervisors, blacksmiths and fitters, finance and HR. Our forging workshop is located in Bromma and with our central location we can be quickly in place.

The group includes Bröderna Eddings Smide, which is an independent forging business with about 20 employees who have worked in Stockholm since 1945. Eddings manufactures all types of forging work in its workshop in Järfälla. Read more about them here.

Happy Solstice!

Some tough weeks with many projects underway have passed. As in previous years, most things should preferably be ready before the holiday, so it's just like it usually is this year! Varied beams, stands, wrought iron stair railings, planting boxes and shop fittings are some of the jobs we have struggled with. Not to mention the pizza steel and ours grillsmasher which is consumed like butter in the sunshine. A hot tip for you who want to try something new or act as a grill master on a successful barbecue evening this summer.

Now we will enjoy herring and strawberries, pick flowers and tie wreaths - things that belong to midsummer. On Monday we are back and drive as usual for the rest of the summer. Right now we have the capacity to take on more jobs like that Contact Us if you need help with anything.

The last week of May

It's the last week of May. The weeks rush by, just thought it was Monday and now it's the weekend again! Last Monday I asked myself the question what should I do this week and now I ask myself the question what have I done this week? Maybe not what I thought, but a lot of other sensible and fun things. With us, a lot happens all the time.

In the forging workshop

In the forging workshop, we made stainless steel railings, stairs, metal glass sections, stands, etc. The rest of the gang was out in the pouring rain and mounted forging trees on Hötorgsterassen and planting boxes in the courtyard in a courtyard.

It was time for the first part of the audit of Specialfastigheter's liability code for suppliers and sustainability requirements in agreements. Together we work for good working conditions, a safe working environment, environmental considerations, human rights, anti-corruption and high business ethics. An exciting and important job!

Lots of welding

There were a number of different welding courses this week. MISA continued its beginner's course in welding. A group from Tom Tits was introduced and deepened their knowledge in TIG, MIG / MAG and MMA welding. A satisfied participant in the metal craft finished his barbecue box. When he came to metalworking for the first time, he had an idea and with the help of the course leader, he completed his project. The participants in the MMA welding course trained before the welder test next week while a new group started a TIG welding course. One group of prospective drilling technicians completed their welding module with a final test in welding in welding position PC lying vertically (pipe standing).

Now is the course date for ours welding courses this autumn out and are open for registration. Take the opportunity to learn to weld this summer or autumn.

Hot worse

Notifications about orders from pizza steel and smashers drizzles tightly. Package after package is sent all over the country. That there are so many places in this elongated country that I did not even have a whisper that they existed. Now we also have an exciting collaboration underway in our web shop with new exclusive forging products. So keep an eye out for it. Who would have guessed a year ago that sales in the shop would grow like this?

Finally

There were also some meetings booked with applicants for our services such as smith and project manager. As the work with recruitment takes place on an ongoing basis, all you have to do is apply for the positions.

A nice end to the week was Friday coffee and 5 S. Nice to end the week by creating some order and order for next week. In any case, you do what you can and have time, even if it is not always what you intended. Now the last week of May is over and it's time to enjoy a great weekend! Look into our forging workshop

There is full activity in our forging workshop in Bromma. Working with us means working in many different types of projects. This is exactly what many people like. The days are never monotonous and the opportunities for development are good.

Right now we manufacture wine racks in different designs, large and small. We make exclusive wrought iron details for the railings. In addition to this, we manufacture exhibition stands, industrial walls, lamp fixtures, details for wrought iron trees and more. There are several home bakers who come in and buy pizza steel. Participants walking welding courses to learn to weld. We have three new blacksmiths in place and we have just started looking for one work manager. The rest of the gang is out on the construction site around Stockholm. In other words, there is a lot of world-class welding, forging and glass! It is so wonderful to see our professional blacksmith gang that always performs at the top with a happy mood!

The week that rushed by

The week rushed by and went at breakneck speed, filled with a lot of fun blacksmithing jobs and a great commitment! The forging team continued to work in the Norrtälje bus depot. Another gang made canopies and bollards. Some made giant flower boxes for Hötorgsterrassen while others made wine racks for Intercool International. In addition, we repaired wrought iron gates and installed security doors. Not to mention the interior details in wrought iron that we manufactured in our wrought iron workshop. All in timeless design and high quality. On the metal craft was it MC-meck. Parts for a bike that was to be built and towed Eezers motorcycle ambulance to be made. The participants in the MMA welding course trained to the last before the welder test next week. The week ended as usual with Friday coffee and now with a focus on Christmas goodies. Yummy! The week just rushed by and it's Friday again. Already looking forward to Monday when I get to come back to work and meet all the wonderful colleagues who gild my life.

Be ready for the final sprint

Now we step into a real final sprint before it's time to tie the knot for this year. It's just how exciting it is and the month of December can be absolutely crucial. Projects to be completed. Quotes to go in and exciting deals that we hope we win. To succeed, it is necessary that we do it together.

Here are the project managers' best tips for success:

Attendance and commitment - be present and well acquainted with the job to be performed. That is when we can solve problems quickly.
Work smart and use the time - plan the job and involve everyone involved so that we can work time- and cost-effectively throughout the working day.
Ensure- make sure that everyone understands the task, roles and the goal (time, budget, results). When everyone becomes aware, it is easier to take responsibility.
Control and follow-up - keep track of the financial situation.
Make sure you have fun - it leads to well-being, better health and that we become happier.

Time for wage negotiations

It is time for a salary revision and negotiations with the union are booked on 7 December. The new the contract value is 5.4 % over 29 months. At the first hearing is the salary pot 2.7 % and you are guaranteed to receive at least SEK 485 in salary increase. When assessing your new salary, we take into account tasks (responsibility and degree of difficulty), work results, commitment, cooperation and performance in relation to Lundgren's goals and vision.
